This year is the first Christmas my husband and I will get to spend together since we got married 4 1/2 years ago. I’m so excited! Our fifth Christmas and we finally get to spend it together. Yay! Every other year, we’ve either been working or traveling. But not this year, no sir. We’re staying home and spending the time together.
It’s kind of funny, because everybody keeps asking what we’re going to do. But since we haven’t spent Christmas together before, we don’t have any traditions to call our own. So, it’ll be fun to make some up this year.
We did come up with one already though. We’re going to start buying an ornament every year and write the “Our nth Christmas” thing on them. So, when we’re eighty we’ll have a tree filled with these ornaments. And we’ll make them something that kind of represents the year too. (Of course, we’ll have to back-track a little for the first four Christmases, but that’s okay.)
Also, about a block away is a clock-tower that chimes Christmas songs at certain times. So, I’m pretty sure we’re going to walk down there and listen to the bells. Dave’s been doing that the last three Christmases when I had to work (the only downside to working at a hospital). It’ll be nice to do it together this year.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
