What to write?

03 Oct

I’m in a mood.

The kind of mood where I feel like writing, but I don’t feel like working on any of my stories. So, I’m writing a blog post instead, even though I really have nothing of interest to report.

Nano is only 28 days away! I’m so excited. I made a cover for my story while I was avoiding my homework last night. I like it, kind of a cross between Battle Royale and Sin City, at least that’s what I was going for.

I also volunteered to be an unofficial event coordinator for Nanowrimo. So, I’m looking forward to having more write-ins in my area. Last year, we just had one kick-off event, which was really cool. And I’m looking forward to meeting some new writers, hopefully even a few students like me. Excitement abounds.

Let’s see, I’m still doing well in school. No worries about my grades yet, and honestly, I don’t think there will be. My professors are pretty cool, teaching us life’s lessons and all that jazz. I don’t really have a favorite this semester.

I’m in the planning stages of doing an externship over spring break. It’s basically a week long job shadow, but I’m hoping to do one with a publishing house and that should be pretty cool.

And work is work. Although I did volunteer to conduct our monthly customer service meetings, starting this month. Yikes! I won’t lie and say I’m excited, but it’ll be a good experience and I’ll learn a lot. Hopefully, I won’t be eaten alive.

I finished To Kill a Mockingbird, moved on to Jumper by Steven Gould, which I’ve also finished, and have just started Alice in Wonderland. I think my reading and writing obsessions alternate in phases. I hope the writing one kicks in for Nano.

And…I can’t think of anything else. ‘Night.
