We, FOUR
Fifteen-year-old Devon Alexander is going to Juilliard to become a concert pianist. But when his father walks out, Devon’s future goes with him as his family is left with nothing but debt and no way to pay. Together with his mother and three older brothers, he’s forced to leave the comfortable life he’s always known and face a harsh reality.
Each day is a new fight, new bruises, and new lessons to learn. Only by working together do the brothers stand a chance.
My Nanowrimo 2010 with the complete first draft finished on November 30th with 32 chapters and 64,750 words. Woot!
This is the first story where I outlined before I wrote a single word. The sensation was rather new for me, but I think I fell in love with it. It’s nice to have a plan and I think it helped me work out several plot holes before they became plot holes.
As of December 1st, I’m on break from this story. I’ll begin round two on March 1st.
